Biography: 

Dr. Bernous is a psychologist and a psychoanalyst in private practice in the City of Newport Beach.  He has a doctorate degree in clinical psychology and has completed his psychoanalytic training at the New Center for Psychoanalysis (formerly known as LAPSI, Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society and Institute).  He is a member of The American Psychological Association, The American Psychoanalytic Association, the Industrial Medical Council and member of International Psychoanalytic Association. Dr. Bernous is also on the teaching faculty of the New Center for PsychoanalysisHe is also a co-translator of the MMPI-2 in Farsi.

Biography:

Afsaneh K. Alisobhani Psy.D. is a certified psychoanalyst and a psychotherapist with a private practice in Irvine,. She completed her psychoanalytic training and doctoral in Psychoanalysis at Newport Psychoanalytic Institute (NPI). Dr. Alisobhani is an active member of her community In addition to her activities at IAMHS, she also serves on the executive board of NPI. Dr. Alisobhani is on faculty and chairs the Extension committee at NPI. She has been the past Vice-president of the executive board at Pilgrimage family Therapy Center.  She has extensive experience in depression, anxiety, eating disorder, as well as couples and family issues.  She  has appeared on Iranian Television as a guest to discuss a variety of issues facing young Iranian-American men and women  including living in a bi-cultural environment.

Biography:

Dr. Oskooilar completed a Ph.D. in Psychology before entering medical school. He finished his psychiatric residency training at Washington University of St. Louis in 1991. He has held different psychiatric positions and teaching affiliations since. Currently, he is medical director of Pharmacology Research Institute that is involved in Clinical Trials in three locations: Newport Beach, Los Alamitos, and Northridge. He is also in full-time private practice of psychiatry in Newport Beach, CA.

Biography:

Houman Hamidzadeh, J.D. is a licensed Attorney At Law specializing in the defending Workers’ Compensation Claims on behalf of Self-Insured Employers and Insurance companies, some of his clients include Hilton Hotels Corporation, Goodyear Tire Company, Bridgestone/Firestone, Harman Becker Automotive (Harman Kardon), University Of Southern California , Circuit City and Nestle,Inc.

Mr. Hamidzadeh is the Managing Partner at the Irvine Branch of Wai & Connor,L.L.P. a medium size law firm based out of Los Angeles.

Mr. Hamidzadeh has been practicing law since 1998 and worked as a paralegal in the same field from 1991 thru 1998. He lectures frequently on legal issues facing California Employers and is a lecturer at Sedgwick Claims College.

Ismail Yassai, Ph.D.

Dr. Ismail Yassai received both his B.A. and M.A. from Chapman University in Clinical Psychology. He obtained his Doctrine degree in Clinical Psychology from the United States International University (known now as Alliant University). Dr. Yassai has been professionally active in his practice for both in-patient and out-patient settings for the past 30 years. He was the clinical director of the substance abuse programs at Brea Psychiatric Hospital. He also directed the adolescent psychiatric treatment program at Santa Ana Psychiatric Center. Over the years he developed a number of mental health facilities including the PSY Clinic (a private psychiatric group), PSY Health Systems that provided internal medicine, neurology, orthopedic and psychiatric treatment. Dr. Yassai is the founder and director of Positive Recovery Center, Inc. a private psychiatric group, providing out-patient psychiatric treatment including substance abuse, assessments, treatments, marriage counseling and divorce counseling. He is designated as an AME (Agreed Medical Examiner) and a QME (Qualified Medical Examiner) by the state of California. He holds licenses in MFCC (Marriage Family and Child therapy), and Clinical Psychology. He is extensively involved in family relationships and is the author of a book entitled “Divorce, death of a relationship and the beginning of the rest of your life.” Dr. Yassai is trained in hypnosis and hypno-therapy. His offices are available in the cities of Tustin, down town Los Angeles and San Bernardino, California.

Biography:

Susan K. Badrtalei Ph.D. is a licensed Psychologist with a private practice in Santa Ana. She completed her B.A. and M.A, in Psychology from Pepperdine University and her Ph.D. from California Graduate Institute. She serves as Psychometrician at the Neuropsychiatric Research Center of Orange County. In addition, she performs Psychological Evaluations and Consultations at the Newport Bay Hospital. 

Prior to her current engagements, for over fourteen years, she worked in private practice with couples, families, and older adults, and at the County of Orange Health Care Agency (Child and Youth Services and Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services).

One of her main goals in dealing with Iranian families has been to assist them to recognize and understand cultural differences between the two countries, and how to cope and adapt better in raising their children and dealing with their elder family members in the U.S.

Biography:

Elham Shoja is an MFT-Intern/ Psychological assistant working as a psychotherapist in a private practice under Dr.Ismail Yassai supervision in Tustin. She completed her training at Chapman University and her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at California Graduate Institute. She is an active member of her community in addition to her activities at IAMHS. She has an extensive experience in working with patients with depression, anxiety, personality disorder, as well as couples and family and parenting issues.  She has appeared on Iranian Television as a guest to discuss a variety of issues regarding life stress and anxiety disorders and ways of coping with our everyday challenges.

Alexandre Kargar has a Ms in Clinical Psychology.

Marjan Fardghassemi, Psy.D.

Clinical area of emphasis:

working with children and adolescents (ages 5-18) with a variety of diagnosis including: ADHD, depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, bipolar, schizophrenia, autism, aspergers, divorce issues, custody and adoption, etc.; administration and interpretation of psychological testings, working extensively with schools in regards to children and adolescents and the presenting problems; parenting classes; as well as individual therapy, family therapy, and marital therapy.

Biography:

Currently she is in private practice in Newport Beach, CA. She is also in psychoanalytic training at the New Center for Psychoanalysis (formerly known as LAPSI, Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society and Institute).
